February presented a unique and entirely new challenge for us as a team and for the Talent Alpha business model and platform. The month started out with the news that we were chosen as one of four European finalists for the prestigious Harvard Business School New Ventures Startup Competition out of a field of 24. This event, opened only to ventures founded by HBS Alumni, attracted a lot of interest from the startup community and presented us with a great chance to polish our pitch deck, strap on our berets and fly to Paris to pitch in the HBS NVC Finals.
On February 20th all three of the Talent Alpha founders descended upon the City of Lights for an exhausting day and night of pitching Talent Alpha to a prestigious jury and enthusiastic audience of European Investors and startup veterans. After much deliberation we emerged on top of the Arc de Triomphe as we won both the Main Prize of representing Europe in the Global Finals as well as the Crowd Favorite award.
The fact that we came ahead of 23 other startup teams led by highly accomplished HBS Alumni coupled with the amazing reception we got from the judges and the audience in Paris has given us a huge boost of confidence for the months to come. We are now looking forward to head to the HBS NVC global finals in Boston in April.
Viva la Talent Alpha!
